General Motors EV1
Update: No Longer available. General Motors was the first major auto manufacturer to introduce its own "purpose-built" electric vehicle. General Motors launched the EV1 commercially for the retail market in the fall of 1996. The two-seat EV1 was the first vehicle in the company's history to carry a General Motors nameplate. The EV1 was offered on three-year leases rather than sold. It is being marketed by Saturn retailers. The first market locations were: Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacremento, Phoenix and Tucson.
